Privacy policy

What this policy covers

This policy applies to planorah.com and to enquiries you send us through the site, on WhatsApp or by email. It is written by Planorah Technologies, a software studio based in Ludhiana, Punjab, India.

It does not cover the software we build for clients. Where we work on a client's product, their own privacy policy governs their users' data, and we handle that data only under their instructions.

What we collect

Through the enquiry form on this site: your name, your phone or WhatsApp number, the service you selected, an optional budget range, and whatever you write in the message box. That is the entire list. There is no hidden field, no session recording, and no email address is required unless you choose to write to us instead.

Through ordinary web traffic: this site runs Google Analytics 4, which records aggregate statistics — which pages get opened, roughly which region a visit came from, which browser and device were used, and how visitors arrived. Our hosting provider also keeps standard access logs including IP addresses. We read this to work out which pages are worth writing more of. There is no session recording, no advertising pixel and no attempt to identify individual visitors or build profiles.

If you message or email us directly, we hold whatever you chose to send — which includes your phone number or email address, and any files you attach.

How the WhatsApp enquiry form works

This is worth stating plainly, because it is unusual. The enquiry form on this site does not submit anything to a Planorah server. When you press Send on WhatsApp, your browser assembles the details you typed into an ordinary WhatsApp message and opens WhatsApp — the app on your phone, or WhatsApp Web on your computer — with that message already written in the chat window.

Nothing reaches us until you press send inside WhatsApp yourself. If you close the window at that point, the message is gone and we never saw it. There is no store of half-finished enquiries, because there is no form database to store them in.

The practical consequence is that once you do press send, your enquiry lives in a WhatsApp conversation between your number and ours, and WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy apply to it alongside this one.

How we use what you send

To reply to you, ask the questions we need in order to quote accurately, and write the proposal. If the project goes ahead, the same details become the contact record for the work — invoices, access requests, launch notifications. We also note which page an enquiry came from, so we know which parts of our own site are doing any work.

We do not send marketing mailers, we do not add anyone to a newsletter, and we do not sell, rent or pass your details to anyone hoping to sell you something. If you enquire and decide not to proceed, we may follow up once. Tell us not to and that is the end of it.

Who else sees it

Your enquiry is read by the people who would do the work. Beyond that it passes through a small number of ordinary service providers, each operating under their own privacy terms:

• WhatsApp, owned by Meta — carries the enquiry message and the conversation that follows it.
• Google — Google Analytics 4 for aggregate site statistics, Google Workspace for the email we exchange with you, and the embedded Google Map on our contact page, which Google loads directly in your browser.
• Our hosting provider — serves the pages and keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for a short period.
• Our email provider — stores the mail we send and receive.

We share information with anyone else only when you have asked us to, or where the law requires it. If we ever receive a legal request for your information, we will tell you about it unless we are prevented from doing so.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into projects are deleted after about twelve months. WhatsApp threads stay in the chat history until they are deleted, and we clear out old non-client conversations periodically. Client records, contracts and invoices are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting rules require. Server logs are measured in weeks, not years.

How it is kept secure

The site is served over HTTPS. The accounts that hold your information use strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication, and access is limited to the people working on your enquiry or project. Where a project involves your own customers' data, we keep it inside your infrastructure and under your control rather than copying it into ours.

The honest caveat: no system is perfectly secure, and much of this chain — WhatsApp, Google, our hosting provider — is outside our direct control. If something happened that affected your information, we would tell you what happened and what we were doing about it, rather than wait to be asked.

Cookies

We set no cookies for advertising, personalisation or tracking you across other sites. Two Google services do set their own: Google Analytics uses a cookie to tell a returning visit from a new one, and the Google Map embedded on our contact page behaves as it would on any site that embeds a map. Your browser can block or clear both at any time and the site will behave exactly as before, because nothing on planorah.com depends on a cookie to work. If you would rather not be counted at all, Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Analytics on every site.

Your rights, and how to have your data deleted

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to planorahtechnologies@gmail.com or message +91 62842 19729. A single sentence is enough and you do not have to explain why. We will confirm and act within thirty days, usually much sooner.

Two limits worth being straight about. We cannot delete your side of a WhatsApp conversation, which sits on your own device and on Meta's systems — we can only delete ours. And where a record has to be retained for tax or accounting reasons, we will keep that record and tell you which one and why.

Links to other sites

This site links out to WhatsApp, Google Maps, the app stores and occasionally to a client's own site. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's property, under their privacy policy and their cookie rules. We check where we link, but we do not control what those sites do once you arrive.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this site or the enquiry form handles information, we update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be visible in the text rather than buried in it. There is no mailing list to announce them on, so that date is the honest signal to check.

It is not legal advice, and it does not replace the data protection terms in a signed project agreement — where a contract between us says something different about a project's data, the contract governs.
